BJP's expansionist agenda making allies restless

TDP's  exit from NDA, other allies like Akali Dal and Shiv Sena simmering with discontent, possible allies like TRS distancing itself and BSP, SP coming together reflect the new phase in the BJP's growth trajectory. The party in its earlier incarnation as Jan Sangh tried to mainstream itself through the experiments like Janata conglomerate and extending support to VP Singh government was the first phase. In the second phase. the few days rule of Vajpayee saw the BJP to be more or less a political untouchable. In the third phase during  NDA-1 government led by Vajpayee, the BJP could muster the support of many regional parties by successfully reaching out to them. The fourth phase saw the BJP consolidating itself by attaining the majority in the Parliament on its own. Yet, Modi led NDA-2 government kept allies in its fold but on its terms only. The BJP is no longer magnanimous to its allies. The next phase marks BJP's expansionist agenda making allies restless and possible allies suspicious of the intentions of the big brother. Not withstanding these concerns of allies BJP is aggressively pursuing its objective of coming to power in the remaining states. Thus the NDA is bound to witness more irritants. The ambitious BJP demonstrating political arrogance can prove to be costlier for the party as a coalition phase in Indian politics has not yet come to an end.
