Karnataka, Kairana undermine BJP's mission Sout India

The Karnataka and Kairana developments seriously undermine BJP's efforts to penetrate into south India either on its own or with the support of allies. The  swift move by congress  in Karnataka deprived BJP of prospective ally like JD(S) . Emboldened by the decline of Modi, the TDP is further firming up its anti-BJP strategy. The TRS which was a uncharitable ally of BJP despite talk of federal front is in a dilemma over any bonhomie with BJP. The manner in which BJP proxy in Tamil Nadu dealt with Tuticorin anger has further alienated the saffron party in the Tamil politics. Though BJP has impressively increased its voting in Chengannaur in Kerala, it is far from emerging as any  challenger to the either LDF or UDF. Thus, BJP's plans to compensate the possible losses in the north and the west with the gains in mission-7 states , most of which are in south India, seem to be a distant possibility. The losses in its strongholds are more discernible for BJP ,while the gains are elusive.
